About the Texas School Accountability Dashboard

The Texas School Accountability Dashboard was established by the 83rd Texas Legislature in 2013. The dashboard's purpose is to provide the public with easily accessible accountability information. The state accountability system is based on three domains, and the dashboard includes these domains to give a summary of district and school performance.

The dashboard makes it possible to find clear and concise accountability information and demographics for an individual school, an entire school district, or the state as a whole. It also allows anyone to easily compare districts or schools. The current dashboard reports accountability results and demographics for the 2017–18 school year. As part of the annual accountability cycle, the dashboard is scheduled to be updated each year.

The statutory authority for the Texas School Accountability Dashboard is section 39.309 of the Texas Education Code (TEC §39.309).
